1932 Ford Roadster

Bill Woodard, Neil East, Bill Moeller

As a hot rod-crazed high-school senior in Eagle Rock, California in 1954, Bill Woodard was able to scrape together $500 to buy this 1932 Ford roadster. It was an uncompleted hot rod project when he bought it. Job number one was to install a then-new 265 cubic-inch Chevrolet V8, followed by body modifications such as shaved handles and fared door hinges, extensive chrome under the hood and new paint in “Aztec Gold.” In 1959, Woodard sold the car to Neil East who kept it for two years and sold it to buy the famous Doan Spencer roadster that had come up for sale. The next owner, Bill Moeller of Washington, D.C., bought the car from East and drove it home from California. He drove it to college and after, only to have it stolen. It was recovered in Kentucky, badly damaged, nine months later. Moeller sold it, the new owner intending to restore the car back to stock. He then sold it to another buyer with the same intentions, who, thankfully, had a change of heart in 1978 and decided to restore it to its Woodard/East hot rod configuration, fortunately able to acquire many of the original parts from previous owners in the process.

Part of the 3 Dog collection since 2025.
