This Ford race-car transporter is one of two of its type built in 1966 by Holman and Moody. They kept one to carry their own race cars and sold the second one to Bud Moore Engineering. The design was quite advanced for its time in that it could carry not only the car itself, but all necessary tools and spare parts, including engines. It is also a sleeper, with a unique external extension on the sleeping compartment to accommodate a full-size adult. The transporter was used by the Bud Moore team from 1967 to 1973 to haul Trans-Am, Grand National and NASCAR race cars to events throughout the country. It was sold and used to carry USAC open-wheel cars in the Midwest and then acquired by 3 Dog Garage in 1999. Restored, it lives to carry Bud Moore’s cars again.
